As I was painting the blood from his wounds, I had tears streaming down my face, knowing that He had done this for me. He took my shame, guilt, sin, brokenness, and replaced it with joy, peace, healing, forgiveness and hope in Him. Such overwhelming love when I didn't deserve it and couldn't earn it or pay for it. His heart longs for us, He doesn't want anything to separate us from His love. There is no greater love than laying down your life for someone else, taking their death sentence, so that they can live. Jesus, the Son of God, came into our world to do that for each one of us. He took our place so that we would not receive the punishment for our sin that would have separated us from God for Eternity. He died on the Cross, was buried, and then rose from the dead to life again conquering death and darkness. Because of it we can walk in freedom, new life, and know the closeness of walking with God in a personal relationship. This painting is a powerful testimony and I have seen it speak to so many lives already. He paid a very great price with His life and gave up everything for us, how much more we need to give our all to Him.
